We wanted to post an announcement letting everyone know about a change in the policies of PayPal in regards to refunds.
In an email from PayPal the following paragraph is important to take note of:
"In line with industry practice and according to our updated policy, we will not charge a fee to process refunds, but the fees from the original transaction will not be returned. This policy will not apply to duplicate transactions, voids and most disputed transactions. You can review the PayPal User Agreement for more information on our return policies.”
With this being said, this will impact how refunds impact you. PayPal will no longer be refunding their transaction fees when a merchant processes a refund. This means that a full refund from us in the event that a refund is warranted will result in less than the full amount being credited to you by PayPal.
Unfortunately, this means that in the event that you use PayPal as your payment method and are receiving a refund, you will receive less than you paid. This is not money that is kept by PINSOA Networks, but by PayPal. Due to this, there is nothing we can do to provide you with a true complete refund.
Although we do not agree with this decision by PayPal, we are unfortunately at their mercy when it comes to how payments and refunds are processed.
One of our solutions that is currently being explored is partnering with a new payment processor, in addition to PayPal, that will allow you to pay directly with credit and debit cards and receive a full refund if the need for one ever arises.
An option we will also continue to offer is to keep the funds paid as a credit on your account to pay for future service fees and purchases.
As we work to find a final solution for the changes by one of our largest payment processors, we will keep you all informed via our announcements.
We appreciate all of you and your patronage.
